A selection from the many letters we receive at The Alternative Centre
Last year I stopped smoking and came off the contraceptive pill. It was about time
I gave my body a well earned rest. I was fine for the first three months and then slowly my skin on my face became bad
and on my back too. Then eczema I have had from being a baby got really bad and I had to stop work. I work as
a professional fashion model, bad skin is not good. I also grained a little weight, so I took two months of work in
order to sort it out.
First of all I went tot see a 'skin specialist'. He charged a lot of money for five
minutes of his time and told me I should go on Roacutane and proposed the idea of food intolerances and natural remedies.
Feeling even worse than when I went into his office I went with my instincts and followed the natural path.
A friend recommended The Alternative Centre......After two hours of tests, questions and
understanding, I was sent away with a new way of eating and two bottles of natural remedies.
It is a strict regime but I adjusted very quickly, you also have to stick to it rigidly.
My job was at stake and my self esteem, so I was determined.
The results are not over night, it took three months to clear my skin and now five months
later my eczema is gone and I only get the occasional time of the month spot.
I think three months and being strict with your self is a lot better than pumping yourself
with chemicals, I still follow the way of eating and I'm feeling great.

Hi Alex
I just want to say thank you. I am very happy with your products and especially
with Formula 2 - the only product for psoriasis which alleviates the burning and itching of my skin. If it is not a
secret, could you tell me the main ingredients in this formula?
Kind regards

Hi Vinesha
Following
my telephone consultation I have been on the diet recommended by Graham for three months now and I have seen a tremendous
improvement in the condition and the appearance of my skin. There is still the occasional small spot, but I haven't had any
clustered eruptions or large spots for at least a month now.
I must say
I am amazed as my skin surely hasn't been this clear for a long, long time and the dryness has improved 100%.
I would
like to thank you for the advice which I know has made such a difference.
The issue
now is maintenance. I'll be honest I have found it difficult to keep to the diet 100% of the time e.g. I found it difficult
to like tofu I'm afraid, but I have avoided the vast majority of the foods I was asked to.
What should
I do now? Surely I don't need to keep on taking all the supplements?
Can I reintroduce
any of the banned foods now? One by one or in groups?
I'd appreciate
your advice on this
Thanks again
With Regards from
CB

Hi Vinesha
Just to
let you know how things are going regarding my new eating regime over the last week.
I've managed
to make the transition from cow's milk to Alpro, it took a few days, but it's going fine now, the coffee has been the hardest,
I'm down to two mugs per day (not cups) but they are not big mugs!
Vitamins and
minerals have not been a problem and I'm well organised with these.
My skin has
cleared very well, the cuts on my fingers have healed and although I have a lot of creases and tenderness to my finger tips
there is definitely a marked improvement. At the moment I'm not quite sure if it's the miracle I've been hoping for,
as you know I have been taking steroids which do tend to heal the skin for a short time. That course of steroids
finished last Monday 7th Feb, and I'm now, not taking, any form of medication.
Hopefully,
I will keep making progress on the programme and will update you accordingly.
Regards
PD

When I
finally visited The Alternative Centre, on the recommendation of a friend, I had been treated for chronic psoriasis by some
of the best known Dermatologists in London and abroad. |
| |
After a lengthy chat about my circumstances and lifestyle,
some very gentle tests were undertaken and a course of remedies and dietary supplements were suggested. This, together with
an exclusion diet based upon my test results, were to form my treatment. |
| |
The results were immediate and startling. My psoriasis
began to clear within one week and my weight started reducing. Within one month all the visible signs, which had so frequently
attracted adverse comment were gone (as was more weight). And so it went on; difficult to maintain at first, the discipline
of the diet and other treatments grew easier as time went by. I'm writing this letter some six months after my initial consultation
and the psoriasis is gone, I've lost nearly 5 stones in weight and feel (and look) better than I've done for more than 20
years. |
| |
The only thing I urge - do as you're told and use
every ounce of will-power to stick with it. I wish you all the luck in the world. |
| |
My unreserved gratitude is due to the friend who sent me
here and above all to The Alternative Centre who cured me.
R G, Germany |
It seems as if I have
always had psoriasis. In fact I have had it to varying degrees for over twenty years. It started in my early teens on my scalp
and then moved to my elbows, knees and back.
I soon found out that the only thing that
cleared my condition was the sun. In recent years my psoriasis has spread to other parts of my body, and since I started working
I have been unable to fit in the necessary sunbathing in my spare time. Instead I have pestered my husband with demands to
go somewhere hot and sunny for our holiday. It must be in June so that I can get my skin clear for the rest of the summer.
I dread having
any warm weather before we go on holiday because I will only wear long sleeves and long skirts or trousers at times when my
skin is unsightly. In fact, I cannot remember the last time I bought any summer clothes.
Since attending
The Alternative Centre my condition has improved due to the treatment recommended, but also because I have been encouraged
to take a more positive approach to my problem, and to believe that there is hope for the future. This contrasts sharply with
the attitude encountered on a previous hospital visit which was basically: ‘Your psoriasis is nowhere near as bad as
some people's. Just be grateful and don't bother us again.'

Dear Sandra,
I am writing
to thank you for all the help and guidance I have received during my visits.
The counselling
and constant support has taught me to look at myself, my lifestyle and those around me, my diet, my attitude towards myself.
Now that
I have learn what foods aggravate my skin I reduce these greatly, and feel so much better for it, too.
My whole attitude and
way of life has changed thanks to you and Jane at The Alternative Centre. I am only sorry that I did not find you sooner.

Dear Toni,
I am just writing to thank you all so much for the help you
have given my daughter. Previously nothing seemed to help her, and she was in a very depressed state about everything. Within
a few weeks of her treatment at The Alternative Centre she was beginning to realize that there was help for her distressing
condition.
She really thought that she would have to live with it, and
try her best to get on with her life. Thanks to you she is almost clear, and feels so much better. It's almost a year now
since I took her to see you, and I just wanted to let you know how Karla is now, and I just hope that many more people will
turn to you for help. Thank you once again.

To all at The Alternative Centre
I would like to thank the staff at The Alternative Centre
(especially Jane) for all their care and kindness in making me well.
I have been a sufferer of psoriasis for 22 years, during
which time I have been in hospital six times, and have spent two and a half years on PUVA treatment for my psoriasis, which
covered most of my body, arms, legs and scalp. After spending a few months with The Alternative Centre I am now much better
than I have been for a long time.
Mrs B, Wales |
Dear Jane,
Just a few lines to let you know how I am progressing. I
am up to three minutes each side on the UVB unit, and already my psoriasis has really improved.
My back, front and arms are now virtually free of any psoriasis.
My legs are still quite bad, although much better than when I came to collect the unit. I've managed to cut down on tea and
coffee and I don't have any problems with irritation like I used to.
In two weeks time I am due to see the skin specialist at
the hospital. I do believe, though, by the time I see him my psoriasis will have gone. Once again Jane, thank you for all
your help.

Dear Centre
The purpose of this letter is to advise you that my son's skin has improved
out of all recognition. His back is almost clear and his front is clearing slowly. I do hope that your 'formula' will continue
to work, and that when the skin gets used to the preparations it does not break out all over again.
In any case, any remission is welcome. We have had our hopes raised in
the past, and then the psoriasis comes back worse than before, and we hardly dare hope that after 12 years we have found the
answer. Our many thanks for all your help.
Mrs E, Sussex |
Dear Sandra,
My daughter's skin is in perfect condition now. It's as if she
never suffered from psoriasis, after eighteen years of always having it on her knees and elbows. It's nothing short of a miracle
to see her skin soft and white without even a trace of dry skin.
Gratefully yours
Mrs W, Wales

Dear Jane Waters,
My Corona unit arrived safely and I have been using it for about two weeks.
Already I have obtained tremendous improvement, and each area of my psoriasis has 'shrunk' in size by at least half. I feel
better than I have for years with much more confidence in myself - I have even bought a mini-skirt for summer; something which
I have never been able to wear previously (and at 25 I can just get away with it!).
With kindest regards to you all
Miss K, Cheshire |
Dear Sir or Madam,
I would just like to inform you that my treatment is going
well after 20 years with psoriasis. It is very exciting to see it disappearing, and lots of patches have already completely
gone I am very grateful. Thank you.
Mrs C, Essex

Dear Sir/Madam,
I recently received your shampoo, and for the first time in at least
ten years I know what my real scalp looks like. In less than a week my scalp was clear and I am a much happier person. Because
of this I can now go into a hairdresser and have my hair done, if I wish, instead of being too ashamed to go. I have a mobile
hairdresser who has been very understanding in the past, and when I asked her to do my hair last weekend, she was so surprised
because my scalp was clear. I just want to say a big thank you for a marvellous treatment.
Mrs D, South Wirral |
I have been a psoriasis sufferer since the age of ten, and have
for the last fourteen years tried several treatments depending on the severity of my condition at the time. These treatments
have included various tar-based products, steroid creams and the PUVA method. All have suppressed my psoriasis, none have
been totally successful or pleasant.
The tar-based products are foul-smelling and messy to use, steroid
creams are basically harmful used over a long period of time, and the PUVA method did not keep the condition at bay for any
length of time at all. All in their own way have helped, but none have been as successful as the Hydrapharm lotions I
have recently been using.
This formula is made from completely natural products, i.e.
safe, is easy to apply and isn't foul-smelling - and, hallelujah, is working.
